GrubHub Delivery Jobs – What the Heck is that.

So you want to know about Grubhub delivery jobs.

The day in the life of a Grubhub delivery driver

So you want to know what the day in the life of a Grubhub delivery driver is like.  Like everything else…. good and bad, happy and sad sunshine and rain. I have been a Grubhub driver for about a year and a half and I have been very happy with the results I have achieved.  When you consider that this is an on demand type of opportunity and you do it when you want.

Now I must tell you that if you are looking to get rich quick and make a million dollars stop reading right now.. That ain’t going to happen… it’s just not.

If you are looking for a way to supplement your income you can do it with Grubhub.  I can’t give you any income guarantee’s, but I can share with you some of the income I have made with Grubhub in my area which is the Durham Chapel Hill NC area.

What is Grubhub?

Grubhub is a restaurant delivery service that has over 85,000 restaurants that they provide their delivery service to throughout the United States,  Grubhub contracts with individuals to be Grubhub delivery drivers  that pick up the restaurant  takeout orders and deliver them to the dinner (customer).

There are several different ways that you can deliver for Grubhub. You can use a car, van, SUV, scooter, motorcycle, and bike.  Restrictions apply for some of these depending on the area that you are located in. Those details can be found at the Grubhub website.

Once you approved to be a Grubhub Delivery driver, you will receive Grubhub gear which consist of a  tee shirt a polo type shirt, a hat, a large insulated delivery bag, and a small insulated delivery bag.

How do I get the MONEY?

How do you get paid?  There is a delivery fee and a mileage fee that you will receive on every deliver.  The dinners also have the ability/option to also tip you for the delivery.  All of these  are paid to you and you keep 100% of your tips.

***Sidebar – I really did not know keeping 100% of your tips was a big deal…. but I have  since learned that some delivery drivers that work with restaurants have to split their tips with the restaurant … Advantage Grubhub.

All of these transactions take place inside the Grubhub App.  You don’t have to place the order or pay for the order… just pick up the order and deliver it.

***Bonus alert…. Sometimes dinners will tip in addition to that which is on the App you in cash when you arrive to deliver their food!

There have been some reports/claims of drivers making up to $20 per hour.  I do think this is possible as I have made $18 per hour on several occasions.  Very rarely have I ever made less than $15 per hour.

How Do You Schedule Work?

There are two ways you can schedule work with Grubhub.

1. Turn on the App

You can simple turn on the App set you status to Ready to Deliver, and wait for offers to come in.  There are no guarantees with this method, however the App has a feature that lets you know if your area is busy and it will let you know if you are likely to receive any offers.

2. Schedule Blocks

Grub hub allows you to schedule blocks of time that you want to deliver in.  This is probably the best way to receive offers.  Let me rephrase that… this is the best way to receive offers.  When you have a block scheduled you will receive the offers first before other drivers that are not working a scheduled block.

You can sign up for blocks by simple turning on the app go to scheduling and tap Update schedule.  If there are any blocks that you want just click on them and that black of time is yours!

Here is another advantage to working scheduled blocks…

Grubhub will guarantee you $10 per hour as long as you accept and deliver every offer you receive.

If you don’t get any offers during your scheduled block (1 hour)you will get $10 for that hour.  There are other stipulations and rules etc… but it is a great benefit.

This  let’s you know  what you will earn at a minimum during your scheduled time.  If you earn more than that $10 per hour that is great because you get to keep all of that!

This is great as I have not found any other on demand type opportunity that will guarantee you anything.  This really works out if it is really slow in your region on particular day that you have scheduled.

Getting 1st access to block scheduling.

New blocks come out every week on 3 days Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10 AM.  These blocks are for the next week.  This gives you an opportunity to plan out you week according to your schedule and how much or little you want to work for that particular week.

The days that you can sign up are based on your Program Level.  The levels are Premier, Pro, and Partner.

Premier Drivers get first access to the scheduled blocks on Thursday at 10AM

Pro Drivers get access to the scheduled blocks on Friday at 10AM

Partner Drivers get access to the scheduled blocks on Saturday at 10AM

How do Program Levels Get Assigned?

How it works.

Levels are updated weekly based on your delivery stats over the last 30 days. If you’re a new driver, you’ll receive a level after your 20th completed order. In order to earn a program level you must have activity history in each stat category.

The stats.

Attendance rate – The percent of blocks you schedule that you attend.

Acceptance rate – The percent of offers that you accept.

Block drop rate – The percent of blocks you schedule, but drop before or during the block.

100% Attendance rate

95%+ Order acceptance rate

< 10% Block drop rate

1st access to new blocks

Catering order eligible*

Access to referral programs

100% Attendance rate

85%+ Order Acceptance rate

< 20% Block Drop Rate

2nd access to new blocks

What‘s the definition of the Gig Economy?

Well I guess it’s more than just combing the definition of Gig +Economy.  Here is the definition of Gig Economy   that is found on  the website

A gig economy is a free market system in which temporary positions are common and organizations contract with independent workers for short-term engagements.

So there you have it the definition of gig economy.  Is this the way of the future in terms of employment /job opportunities?  Maybe so, it seems that all things are pointing in that direction with the advent of the internet, smartphones and all this ever evolving digital technology.

Kinda makes me feel like an old person… Not so long ago thing were a bit different.

I really think the Gig Economy is a fancy way/term used of framing the shift from permanent full-time employment to temporary/contract, on demand employment.  In today’s competitive  marketplace employers are always looking for a way to deliver better product and services quicker and as cost effectively as ever before all while increasing that bottom line$$.

They have to be able to be nimble and shift direction at a moment’s notice.  Oftentimes this may require the creation of a special project that will only be needed for a brief period of time and may require special skills that may not be available in house.   They will use the service or platform to find people to perform this Gig.

This is not a bad thing.  If you are looking for supplemental income the Gig Economy signals opportunity for you.  If you are a plumber, electrician, writer, graphic designer, coder, or have no specialized skills there is something available for you in the Gig Economy!

The good old days …. The landscape has changed!

I don’t know who will be reading this post, but I want to take you back into time, actually just a ten years.  Just ten short years ago finding a job/gig and getting money was different.  Back in those days you could go into a store, restaurant or place of business and inquire if they were hiring and drop off your resume with the person at the front desk, or even fill out an application.

You could look in the want ads in your local newspaper to find gigs.

Some of those open positions even has phone numbers listed that you could call for an interview or even fax numbers to fax over you resume.

There were job-sites on the internet at that time as well.  They worked pretty well as they do today.  A lot of these jobs were permanent full-time positions, but there was also a trend starting, which was more of a shift toward contract or temporary positions.

With this shift to contract and temporary positions new opportunities have emerged, especially for people who have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy the freedom to earn money on their own schedule and at their own pace.

How does the Gig Economy Job work?

There are a number of Gig type Jobsites and platforms out there in the digital world.  Depending on what skills you have there may be more opportunities for you.

There are two  Gig economy platforms I will present.

I want money now!

You want more money now?  That’s’ what we are going to talk about in this post.  I always want money now.

Why Do YOU Want Money Now

Why do you want money now?  This may sound like a dumb a** question, but determining why you need this money can  you determine how you need to proceed on the journey called “I want more money now”.

Do you need the money to pay bills?

Electric Bill | Gas Bill | Cell bill | Medical Bills | School Tuition | Mortgage Payment

Do you need money to pay for a special occasion?

Cruise | Wedding | Honeymoon | European Vacation | Harley Davidson | Convertible

There are many other things you may need to this money now for.  You may need this money for something I don’t have listed.  Only you know what you need it for.

How much $$ do you want?

How much money do you want?  When do you need it? How often do you need this money?

I’ll just take a stab at this and say that you need $10,000 in a years’ time.

Now let’s break that figure down to smaller bite sized amounts.

Monthly you need roughly $ 833.34.

Weekly you need around $192.31.

Daily you would need $27.40.

When you break the amount of money down to a daily basis, the task at hand seems a bit more manageable.  Need more money?  Just do plug in that amount and do the math.

How long do you need this Money?

How long do you need to make this money? A month a year, 10years?  Not sure?  I guess it really doesn’t matter that much other than it might help determine how you go about making this money.  I mean who really wants to pound rocks for the next 5 years?  If you do good for you, but I think I will pass. I don’t have the strength will or stamina for that anymore. I am always looking for something that I can do in addition to my normal job… something part time that I can do on my own schedule.  I like to call that On-Demand!  Make money when I want!

I can Make $500 a week or more… extra Income

And you can too!  There are numerous opportunities available for you to make this type of money.  Some take more time to get started and some are more immediate (now) or what has been termed ON-Demand.

I’m going to share 2 opportunities with you that I utilize to generate this type of money on a weekly basis.  Is it magic…  Is it get rich quick…  Do you have to recruit you friend and neighbors….. no.  Will you make millions of dollars…. not likely.

Can it generate up to $500 a week…. yes it can depending on the area you work in and how hard and often work. It is work you can do on your own schedule.

Convenience + Grub equals Opportunity for YOU!

People will pay to have their breakfast/lunch/dinner delivered  to their home or office or even the beach.  Grubhub…. You may have heard of them by now.  They provide restaurant delivery to over  85,000 restaurants throughout the country.

So how can ordinary people make money with Grubhub? If you have access to a bike, scooter, car, van you can do this.  I must tell you that this a very popular On-Demand App/Opportunity and is not available in all parts of the country so it can be a little harder to get in and be a Grubhub Delivery Person.

This opportunity is open seven days a week and between the hours of 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM.  Plenty of time to get in on the action!

How do I get paid.. How does it work?

Once you get signed up with Grubhub you will need to download the Grubhub  Driver App to you smartphone.  You can then open up the App and make yourself to taking orders. Now you are ready to start taking offers!

I love Grubhub because I can see how much an offer is going to pay as well as where I will need to pick up the diners food from.  You have the option to accept or reject the offer.  It’s your decision!

Make the delivery and wait for your next offer.  You are paid weekly with this On-Demand Opportunity.

Like Driving…Like Meeting new people…. Make Money.

If you like 1 out of the 3 things in the above headline this this may be the right opportunity for you.

Uber… the most widely heard of rideshare platforms around.  I know w you know who I’m talking about.  I have been driving with Uber for over 2 years and have been making money and meeting new people from all over the world.

Basically in a nutshell you pick up riders that have requested a ride on the Uber Rider App.

Uber will perform s background check, and a driving records check.  This process typically takes a couple days. Once you are approved to be an Uber driver, you will need to download and install the Uber App onto your smartphone. Once you download the app you are ready to rock!  Oh yeah I forgot to mention the price to get signed up to be an Uber driver… it is free!

Depending on the market you are driving in you can make more or less than $500 a week.  Some drivers make this and more just driving on the weekends.  It really depends on when you drive and how long you drive.

What’s your next move?

What are you going to do?  There are many things for you consider at this point.  One thing is for sure is if you need money now you have got to do something.  Hopefully these two On-demand opportunities might be right for you!

What do you have to lose? It’s free to sign up and if you don’t like it after you try it you can quit.  The choice is yours.

I have listed links below to sign up for either program you would like to get started with.

If you have any questions please make sure to leave a comment I will make sure to reply.

US Government Shutdown

I thought I would share a post related to the US Government Shutdown.  Why  .. because it is affecting families all  over this country.  800,000 government workers plus all the other folks that count on them.

US Government Shutdown Job?

If you are reading this post and are affected in some way by this US Government Shutdown, all I can say is I feel for you, and I’m sorry this happened to YOU.  I can only imagine what you must be going through.  Let’s face it a job with the government is considered one of the best and secure jobs a person can get.  I wanted one but could never get past filling out that SF-171.  Whew that was a lot of work back in the day!  But kudo’s to you you got the job and now are expected to go to work without pay, and really are stuck between a rock and a hard place.  You can’t really find a job another job, but you need money.  There are some ideas but they may or may not be for you.

What Job Ideas…

There have been several ideas that have been floated around about getting some money in your household during this shutdown.  I guess the idea behind them is that they are temporary, or cause you to do contract or service work or sell all your belongings.  And as such you can easily leave those jobs once the shutdown is over.  Here are a few of the ideas that have been suggested:

1. Have a garage sale – clean out your attic, basement and closets at the same time
2. Sell unwanted larger ticket items through the newspaper or online
3. Offer to watch children, walk pets or house sit
4. Turn your hobby into income
5. Tutor students, give music or sports lessons
6. Become a mystery shopper
7. Drive for a Rideshare company

Which Idea is RIGHT for YOU?

One of these ideas may be right for you, or maybe none of them are right for you.  Only you ca make that decision.  You know better than anyone else what is going to be best for you and your family.  I must be frank and give my honest opinion here….. What’s best is to get the US Government shutdown ended and get those checks flowing back to you and your family…ASAP! But that is not up to me.  So back to these ideas.

  • Have a garage sale – clean out your attic, basement and closets at the same time

Not a bad idea if you have a lot of stuff to get rid of.  But garage sells always bring bargain hunters that are looking to get a deal (something for next to nothing_

  • Sell unwanted larger ticket items through the newspaper or online.

This is great if you have big ticket items that you want to get rid of . Items that are of high value such as houses or cars, as well as other expensive products like furniture and appliances.

  • Offer to watch children, walk pets or house sit.

Not a bad idea if you like animals and children.

  • Turn your hobby into income.

I think this is a great idea.

Now is to the time to do this while you have time.  I know of on federal employee that is using this time to make customer drink coasters.

  • Tutor students, give music or sports lessons.

If you got these skills it can help pay some bills.  Also consider substitute teach in the local school system.

  • Become a mystery shopper.

Not sure about this one.  I don’t have or know anyone that has done this before.  But there I have been critiqued by a mystery shopper in the past, so there a opportunities out there.

  • Drive for a Rideshare company

This is a great option if you own or have access to car or SUV.  There are two major companies out there Uber and Lyft. I happen to driver for both companies an they both have their strengths and weaknesses.  I have had more success with Uber than Lyft in my area.   That’s not to say that Lyft is not a good opportunity, I make money with them, I just happen to make more with Uber.

I review on demand money opportunities on this site and give my personal opinion and reviews of these opportunities. I have reviewed Uber on this site but not Lyft.  Due to the nature of this post and the current situation you may be facing, I thought I would present ridesharing in general and provide the detailed review of Lyft for another time.

Drive for a Rideshare company… Instant Money!

I’m sure by now you may have heard of ride sharing.  It is a great way to make some extra money… a side hustle if you will.  This offers a great alternative for consumers as it is much better than taking a cab, and it offers everyday ordinary people an opportunity to get in on the action and make some extra cash.

Whenever a person needs a ride they will hail a driver via an app they have on their phone.

The app then dispatches the request to the nearest diver (YOU) and the driver accepts the dispatch.  At this point the driver clicks on the navigation button on the driver app and it puts you in route to the rider.

Once you arrive at the rider’s location, you pick up the rider, confirm their name and destination and then you start the trip. Once you get to the riders final destination, you complete the trip on the driver app and that’s it. You are ready for your next trip. Simple and Easy!

Below are links for Uber and Lyft.

UBER                                                                                 Lyft

You can get signed up to be a driver for both Rideshare companies.  It doesn’t coast you anything to sign up and you can work for both of the companies.  You are the boss you drive when you want to and for either company whenever you want.  I usually have Uber and Lyft apps on at the same time and work it from there.  Whichever App contacts me first is the one I go with.  It just depends on the day and which app is popping!

There is one more On Demand APP to consider. Wonolo

As I mentioned earlier I personally review the opportunities I present.  What that means is I have personally taken part in and actually used the app or opportunity which I review.  Wonolo is an on demand app that I have signed up with, however I have not had an opportunity to actually use it… but my niece has and she has had a good experience whit this company.  This is also free to sign up with.  You sign on to the app and it will let you know if there are any jobs available  in your area for the day or the coming weeks.  There are various jobs available it just depends.  Not an income replacer, but it will help you pick up a couple extra dollars.  Click on the Easy to get started image to below to get started

Hope This Ends Soon!

Well folks that’s it for now. I really hope this shutdown is over soon! Maybe you will try some of these ideas, or maybe you won’t, but I think this shutdown has taught all of us that we need to insulate ourselves (as much as we are able to) from these financial heart ships by saving and having a side hustle that can be there when we need it to help cushion the blow.

God bless YOU and your FAMILIES!

Pros and Cons of driving for Uber

Thinking about driving for Uber?   Need to check out the Pros and Cons of driving for Uber?  I will share dome of those with you from my own prospective.

Money – When you want it

You can make money with Uber.  How much is the biggest question.  The answer quite simply… it depends.  It depends on how long you are going to drive on a given day.  If you turn the Uber driver app on and leave it on you will make some money.  Typically I drive 2 or 3 days a week for approximately 4 hours. I average between $50 to $100 for that 4 hour period.  Depending on when and where you drive you can possibly make more or less.  I do this on a very, very ,very part-time basis, and I have been very hard pressed to find another opportunity that allows me to basically work or not work whenever I want to.  There are some Uber drivers that do it full-time and they do pretty well.

**** Fun Fact:  Have you ever asked an Uber driver in person about driving for Uber, or the Pros and Cons of driving for Uber?  What did they say… “It’s OK”, “It’s Great”, “I’m going to QUIT”.  I asked this question  when I first started driving ith Uber.  Quite a few drivers told me that it sucked.  Man, am I glad I did not listen to them.  You see, I kept driving, and I would continue to see those drivers on a regular basis, driving, driving and driving.  LOL They still driving today 2 and a half years later.  They were trying to discourage me (and others) from driving so they could continue to get all the request and the money.  They did not want any competition… what  JERKS!  Forget them… I’m getting my money!

Freedom  Ain’t  that America!

This one of the top pros… FREEDOM!  You have the freedom to work whenever you want.  If you don’t want to work, then don’t the choice is yours… you are the BOSS!  Work whenever you want.  You have the freedom to spend time with your family!  Go to those ball games, plays, recitals, the movies, the concerts.  When you are done doing what you want to do, you can turn on the Uber app and get to work, if you want to…BOSS!

The Riders… A Blessing

Some of the most interesting people ride with Uber. They come from everywhere. From every corner of the globe, from all walks of life.  One ride you have a car full of researchers who are working on a cure for diabetes, next ride a car load of ACC football players, the next ride a drummer who plays with several famous rock bands!  You never know who you will pick up next.  It’s like a box of chocolates, sugar  free chocolates  if you are a diabetic!

Every day… Something Different

It’s been said that variety is the spice of life.  Do you agree?  If you do then this is  a great reason to driver for Uber! Every day you drive will be different than the day before. Every rider you pick up will lead to a different destination.  Every rider will be different.  Never the same.  You will see places in and out of your area you may not have discovered otherwise.  New places for you to check out when you are not driving.  Heck you can turn off the app and check out those new discoveries immediately if you like.  Never boring to say the least.  Driving for Uber can be likened to the potpourri of life.

Surge Pricing… Where Low Supply and High Demand = More $$$

Uber has something called Surge Pricing… you may have heard of this.  What does this to mean?  It means  more money for YOU!  I LOVE it and you will too!  Surge Pricing happens when the demand for people looking to catch an Uber is higher that the number of Uber drivers in an area.  When this goes into effect you as a driver will receive more money over and above the normal rate charged.  In the screenshot below is an example of what the driver app looks like when there is a Surge.  The are will be highlighted in red and the number indicate the level of the surge. In this case the surge is at 1.6 so what that means is a trip that would normally pay you 10 will now pay 16 (1.6 x 10).  How high can the surge rate go?  I’m not really sure.  How high have is seen it go? I have seen it as hg as 4.0, but I have heard other drivers have experienced rates that are even higher than that.  That’s a lot of extra money!

Riders…. A Curse

You may have noticed that I have listed “Riders” as a Pro and now listing them as a Con!  What the heck is going on here?  Well Uber is really a people business, and as such each rider you pick up has the potential to be a blessing or a curse.  Now in my experience most of my riders have been a blessing from a personal/personality stand point.  That’s not to say that some were not different or a little odd, but to be fair they may have felt the same way about me.  You may pick up riders that may be a tad bit drunk and may be talking crazy and smelling like a brewery.  You may pick up some passengers that have a foul body order.  You may pick up passengers that may smell like a pack of cigarettes.  You may pick up riders that may be dirty.  You never know who your next rider may be.  This is the uncertainty, that’s the con or curse if you will.

Wear and Tear on your Vehicle

You will be driving your own vehicle and as such you will have wear and tear on you vehicle.  Tires, oil changes, regular maintenance service. Uber does not pay for these things… You do.  Whether you are driving for Uber or not you will have these expenses anyway.  It’s your business so you are doing to have business expenses associated with your business (Uber or any business).  Uber offers discounts to drivers which can help cushion the cost of some of these expenses.

Make a Decision

I have more Pros than Con’s in this post, and that is based my own personal experience.  When I decided to sign up I did the same thing you are doing.  I read some articles and stuff.  Some were negative and some were positive.  I decided to do because it did not cost me any money to get started and if I did not like it I could quit.  Well 2 plus year latter I’m still driving!  Still undecided… make a decision tree with Pro’s on the left and Con’s on the right.  If the Pro’s are more that the Con’s get started and sign up now.  If the Cons are more that the Pros maybe this is not for you.  Either way is fine the decision is yours.

Looking for Driving Uber reviews?

Look no further. I have been driving with Uber for the past 2 plus years and I have enjoyed it thus far! I will share some of my experiences driving with Uber. Below is a current screenshot of my ratings, trips and years driving for Uber.

Money making potential.

My driving Uber reviews…money. I drive for Uber
and have found Uber to be a great source of secondary income. I only work it part time on my schedule, which is great since my schedule at my full time job is crazy. I work as much or as little as I want. Depending on where you drive/ live you can possibly make that reported claim of $1500 per week. It will require you to drive during the peak hours which are normally late nights on  Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. I don’t need $1500 per week, but I have driven during these late night hours a time or two and I always do pretty well. I once made$90 in 3 hours. I typically drive 2 to 5 hours when I drive and typically make from $60 to $130 during that time period. I do not drive in an ultra-busy market… I’m in North Carolina. So you can make money in just about any market.

How hard is driving for Uber….. So easy an 80 year old can do it!

If you can use a smartphone and follow directions you can do Uber. I have found the Uber app to be easy to install and operate. I have had no issues with it since I have been driving with Uber. They are constantly improving the app. They have improved the navigation options, the voice options, safety options, help options…. Like I said they continue to improve the app to make it better for you the driver. The app works on IOS or Android smartphones. I have a friend that recently used Uber and his Uber driver was 80 years old. Wow… you can do this! I have met drivers from all walks of life from a software developers, to retirees, to teachers, college students.. like I said from all walks of life. The first couple of times I drove for Uber I was a little nervous, but after that in became easy as pie. Hey Uber also offers drivers discounts on phone plans as well.

Uber phone plan discounts for drivers
AT&T 22% off eligible service plans.
Verizon 15% off qualifying plans and features. 25% off select accessories.

What are the Riders like?

The riders are just ordinary everyday people that need to get to a destination. The destination could be anywhere: home, church, school, airport, train station, bar, restaurant……. anywhere. I have had only good experiences with riders. That’s no to say that they were all wonderful, but I’m just a real laid back kind of person, so not much bothers me. I’m getting money so that’s what I tend to focus on. I once picked up a rider that had a little too much to drink, and was passed out the entire time. I have had other riders that were drunk and stayed awake the entire time and I had no issues what so ever. I guess I have been lucky when it comes to inebriated riders…. No puking so far. If it does happen Uber will pay you to have your car professionally cleaned. I’ve picked up roadies for AC/DC, Kanye West and others. So many interesting stories on that ride. I’ve picked up Ceo’s and other Titans of industry, and had an opportunity to pick their brains about various topics while they were on the ride.

Gas maintenance and repair bills.

Let’s be clear when you drive for Uber you are truly in business for yourself. Yes you will have to pay for your own gas and yes you will have to pay for your own maintenance. But you have to pay for that anyway if you drive a car for Uber or not. The more you miles you put on your car the sooner you will have to change tires, do oil changes etc… You will have business expenses associated with your Uber business and you may be able to write these off come tax time. Not to mention the discounts available to you as an Uber Driver:

Uber auto maintenance discounts for drivers
AutoZone 10% off goods purchased (excluding gift cards, core charges, outside buys, taxes, and Loan-a-Tool fees)
Firestone 15% off products and services (except tires)

Tires at 10% over store cost

Safelite AutoGlass $10 off glass repair | $25 off glass replacement | Free mobile serv

Save up to $50 on windshield/door glass repair with Safelite

Sears Auto Center 50% off oil changes

30% back on all service labor

How safe is it to drive for Uber?

I am writing this diving for Uber review from my own personal experience, so I will speak to that in regards to my safety. I have yet to find myself in a situation where I felt concerned for my safety. Now with that said… there are other drivers that may have situations when it comes to their safety. You have to be smart about it. Most times you will be familiar with the sketchy areas of your city. With Uber, you do not have to accept every request that comes in. If you see that the request is for an area that you know to be unsafe, or one that you are uncomfortable with…. Do not except the trip. There are safety concerns we all face whether we drive for Uber or work at the post office or McDonalds. You have to be vigilant and aware of your surroundings at all times. Uber has built in a Safety Toolkit on the Uber driver app that help with driver safety. There is 911 Assistance and Share Trip options. I have presented screenshots from my driver app better illustrate these features.

911 Assistance

Allows you to connect to 911 directly through the driver App and automatically provides the 911 dispatcher with your location.

Share Trip

This feature allows you share your location with whomever you chose while you are on a trip.  I always share this with my wife!  She loves this feature, it gives her peace of mind and she can track the progress of my trip. This is an AWESOME feature!

Extra Income Ideas –  Is it Worth It?

Is generating extra income something you value… is it worth it?  Only you can answer that question for yourself.  As for me it has most definitely been worth it!  A traumatic event took place in our family a few years ago and my wife could not bear to live in our home any longer.  I had to do something, so I made the decision to buy a new home.  I needed extra income!!  I found the extra income and we now live in a new home. Why do you need extra income ideas?   Do you need the income for a new home, new car, to get out of debt, for retirement, for your children’s education? Is your WHY worth it?

How Much Extra do You Need?

Once you figure out your WHY, then you have to figure… $1, $10, $100 per day, per week, per month? How much extra income do you need? Many of these Income Ideas do not require no or very little money to get started.  It is not get rich quick… it is not a scheme or a scam.  These are legitimate income producing ideas.  It is extra income that you can use to save for the future, save for retirement, use for vacations or just use it for whatever you like.  Depending on how much you need and how soon you need the money will help determine which extra income idea will work best for you.

No Special Skills Required

You are probably wondering what it takes to make this Income.  Do you need special software, a super computer from NASA, staff, office space?  The answer is quite simply NO. You do not need to have a college degree, master’s degree, PHD, MD or even a GED.  If you made it this far you have the necessary skills to make this work for you.  You will need access to a car, insurance, a smartphone  and a valid drivers license. If you can read and follow simple directions you can make some extra money!

Make Extra Income – On Your Schedule

How much time will it take for you to earn this extra money?  How can you do this with your busy schedule, kids, work, social activities, cooking, eating….ugh.

What if you could work around your schedule, your family, your regular job and still be able to make some extra income.  Many of these income ideas can be accomplished with on demand jobs.  What this means is you can earn this income oftentimes whenever your busy schedule will allow.  Work as much or as little as you want. It’s your decision, your choice.  You are the BOSS!

Ride Sharing –  Extra Money on Demand!

I’m sure by now you may have heard of ride sharing.  It is a great way to make some extra money… a side hustle if you will.  This offers a great alternative for consumers as it is much better than taking a cab, and it offers everyday ordinary people an opportunity to get in on the action and make some extra cash.  There are several different ride sharing companies’ out there but the most well-known is Uber.

I work with Uber, and I make a pretty good amount of money, doing it whenever I want. Some Uber drivers make $1500 or more per week!

 How Does It Work?

Whenever a person needs a ride they will hail a driver (Uber) via an app they have on their phone.

You get paid weekly, but you can also choose to receive your pay instantly on your debit card.  The choice is yours.
